Mumbai Local Train Update: Mumbai’s local train services were disrupted once again on Thursday morning following a technical glitch between Bhivpuri Road and Karjat station on the Central Railway line. The issue caused significant delays for both local and long-distance trains, leading to inconvenience for commuters.

Railway officials confirmed that the disruption affected services in both directions. The Mumbai Division of Central Railways stated, “Due to a technical problem between Bhivpuri Road and Karjat station, all local and Mail/Express trains are affected. Restoration work is underway and we regret the inconvenience caused.”

Hours later, the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Mumbai provided an update, announcing that services had been restored by 8:00 AM. However, trains were operating at a reduced speed as a precaution. “Services between Bhivpuri Road and Karjat sections have been restored at 08:00 AM. However, some services are running at a cautious speed. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation,” the DRM stated.

This incident marks the third major railway disruption in less than two days. On Wednesday morning, a signalling fault near Mumbra on the south-bound slow track between Diva and Mumbra stations caused train delays of 15-20 minutes on the Central Railway’s main line. The problem, which was reported at around 4:55 am, was resolved by 6:00 am, according to Central Railway’s Chief Public Relations Officer, Swapnil Nila.

In a similar incident, suburban train services on the Western line were affected on Tuesday evening due to a technical glitch in the train management system at Borivali station.

Mumbai’s local trains, considered the city's lifeline, cater to millions of daily commuters. The recurring technical issues have raised concerns about infrastructure reliability, particularly during peak hours.
