Mumbai-Goa Train Update: Travelling between Mumbai and Goa? If you’re planning to take the Tejas Express or Jan Shatabdi Express, you’ll need to rethink your travel plans for the next month. Due to ongoing maintenance and platform upgrades at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), both trains will temporarily stop at Dadar instead of CSMT as reported by News18.

This change has been made by Central Railway authorities to support the ongoing work at CSMT and ensure smoother operations once the upgrade is complete. The maintenance, which focuses on expanding platforms 12 and 13, is crucial to accommodate the growing number of passengers at the station.

For the time being, the Tejas Express (train no. 22120) and Jan Shatabdi Express (train no. 12051), which usually begin and end their journeys at CSMT, will have Dadar as their final destination. This temporary shift will be in place until February 28, 2025. After that, trains are expected to return to their usual routes.

This change may cause some inconvenience, particularly for regular commuters and travellers who are used to a direct connection to CSMT. Those arriving in Mumbai will need to make alternate arrangements, such as taking local trains, taxis, or other transport options, to reach their final destinations.

Dadar station, already known for its high footfall, is expected to experience even more congestion during this period. However, railway officials have reassured passengers that crowd management measures will be in place to minimise disruptions.

Passengers are encouraged to double-check train schedules and be prepared for possible delays, as increased foot traffic at Dadar could affect travel times. For any concerns, railway staff and the helpline are available to assist.

While the temporary shift may cause short-term challenges, the infrastructure upgrades are necessary for long-term improvements in Mumbai’s railway network. Passengers are hoping that the work will be completed swiftly, restoring normal services soon.

In the meantime, travellers on the Tejas Express and Jan Shatabdi Express should plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys to avoid any surprises.
