Mumbai Local Train Update: In a major update, the Central Railway has announced a scheduled traffic and power block for 15 days beginning September 26 to carry out necessary maintenance work. Authorities have advised commuters to anticipate disruptions and plan their journey accordingly, as services of several Mumbai local and long-distance trains will remain affected during this period.
As a part of the operation, Pre Non-Interlocking (PNI) activities will be carried out at Karjat station to support the ongoing yard remodelling project, The Indian Express reported.
Central Railway Mega Block On Panvel Line From Sept 27-30
- Between Saturday, September 27, and Tuesday, September 30, a daily traffic block will be enforced from 11:20 AM to 4:20 PM on the UP and Down Panvel line.
- The scheduled block will disrupt train services between Nagnath Cabin and Karjat Platforms 2 and 3, as well as between Karjat Platform 3 and Chok station.
- Additionally, no local train service will operate between Karjat and Khopoli during the block period.
Impact On Train Operations On September 27, 28, and 29
- Cancellation of Down Suburban Trains: Karjat-Khopoli local trains departing Karjat at 12:00 PM, 1:15 PM, and 3:30 PM will be cancelled.
- Cancellation of Up Suburban Trains: Khopoli-Karjat local trains departing Khopoli at 11:20 AM , 12:40 PM, and 2:55 PM will be cancelled.
- Short-Termination of Suburban Trains: The CSMT-Khopoli local train departing CSMT at 12:20 PM will be short-terminated at Karjat.
- Short Origin of Suburban Trains: The Khopoli-CSMT local train scheduled to depart Khopoli at 1:48 PM will instead originate from Karjat.
Diversion of Mail And Express Train on September 28
Train No. 22194 Gwalior-Daund Express will be diverted via Kalyan-Karjat and will make a scheduled stop at Kalyan to accommodate passengers boarding from Panvel.
Impact On Train Operations On September 30
- Cancellation of Down Suburban Trains: Karjat-Khopoli local trains departing Karjat at 12:00 PM and 1:15 PM will be cancelled.
- Cancellation of Up Suburban Trains: Khopoli-Karjat local trains departing Khopoli at 11:20 AM and 12:40 PM will be cancelled.

Rescheduling of Mail & Express Trains on September 30
- Train No. 11014 Coimbatore-LTT Express, journey commencing on 29.09.2025, will now depart Coimbatore at 12:50 PM instead of the scheduled 8:50 AM.
- Train No. 12164 Chennai-LTT Express, journey commencing on 29.09.2025, will now depart Chennai at 9:25 PM instead of the scheduled 6:25 PM.
- Train No. 12263 Pune-Hazrat Nizamuddin Duronto Express, journey commencing on 30.09.2025, will now depart Pune at 3:10 PM instead of the scheduled 11:10 AM.
Dr. Swapnil Nila, Chief Public Relations Officer, Central Railway stated, “Details of repercussions of further blocks and train running from 01.10.2025 to 10.10.2025 due to the same will be shared sunsequently. These maintenance mega blocks are essential for infrastructure upkeep and safety. Passengers are requested to bear with the Railway Administration for the inconvenience caused.”
