Mumbai Metro Line 12: Mumbai is all set for major transport transformation with the construction of Metro Line 12, a 22.17-km fully elevated corridor linking Kalyan to Taloja. The route is set to enhance connectivity to the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport. Officials say the line could reduce current travel time by 50 per cent to 75 per cent , depending on road conditions.

Metro Line 12 is an extension of the Orange Line from Metro Line 5 (Thane–Bhiwandi–Kalyan). It will feature 19 strategically located stations between APMC Kalyan and Amandoot (Taloja). Designed for multimodal integration, the corridor will connect with Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1 at Taloja and the proposed Metro Line 14 at Hedutane. Once operational, travel between Kalyan and Taloja will be reduced from 1–1.5 hours to just 45 minutes.

When Will Mumbai Metro Line 12 Start?

Mumbai Metro Line 12's construction began in March 2024, with piling and viaduct works already underway. Currently, about 5 per cent to 20 per cent of structural work is completed. The project is expected to be fully completed by December 2027 under a 30-month EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contract.

What Will Be The Ticket Fare of Mumbai Metro Line 12?

The fare structure for Mumbai Metro Line 12 is expected to follow Mumbai Metro’s existing pricing model:

- Rs 10 (up to 2 km)

- Rs 20 (2–5 km)

- Rs 30 (5–12 km)

- Rs 40 (12–18 km)

- Rs 50 (18–24 km)

- Full journey fare: Rs 50Rs 60

What Will Be The Timings Of Mumbai Metro-12 line?

Once operational, Metro Line 12 trains will run from 6 AM to 10 PM. Frequency will be 5–7 minutes during peak hours and 8–10 minutes during non-peak periods.
