Mumbai Metro Line 2A, 7: Commuters on Metro Lines 2A and 7 will now be able to book QR-code tickets through more than 14 popular mobile apps, following the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) and Maha Mumbai Metro’s integration with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC).

Officials said the move will widen access to digital ticketing and reduce queues at metro stations.

The initiative follows the launch of the Mumbai One mobility app, which has seen over 3.78 lakh downloads in two months. The new ONDC-linked system allows commuters to choose their preferred platform for ticket booking.

Boost To Digital Public Infrastructure

The integration has been executed by Sequel String on behalf of MMRDA. Officials said the initiative supports the state’s broader plan to strengthen digital travel systems under the Digital India mission.

With approximately 3.5 lakh daily riders on Lines 2A and 7 and additional routes, Lines 2B and 9 set to open soon, metro authorities believe digital ticketing will play a major role in improving seamless, end-to-end travel for commuters.
