Mumbai News: A Mercedes-Benz tourist vehicle was involved in an accident at the departure area of Terminal 2 on Sunday. According to Mumbai Police, the driver dropped off passengers at Gate 1 and lost control of the vehicle after leaving them. The car crashed into the ramp in front of Gate 3.
The incident resulted in injuries to five individuals, including two foreign passengers from the Czech Republic and three airport staff members. However, all five are reported to be out of danger and have been taken to Nanavati Hospital for treatment.

Mumbai Police confirmed that the driver is in custody, and preliminary investigations indicate he was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the crash. An offence has been registered against him, and further inquiries are ongoing.
The airport issued a statement regarding the incident, assuring that it is collaborating with police and emergency teams to ensure passenger safety and the smooth continuation of airport operations. "This morning at CSMIA, a driver lost control of his car in T2's departure lane, injuring five people. The airport medical team responded promptly to provide first aid, and the injured have been admitted to hospital for treatment," the statement read.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident, and more details are expected to emerge as the inquiry progresses.
