Mumbai News: The Central Railway has implemented temporary restrictions on platform ticket sales at several major stations in Mumbai. This announcement was made on Twitter by the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Mumbai (@drmmumbaicr) on Wednesday.

The stations affected by this decision include Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) and Kalyan. The measure will be in effect from April 18 to May 15, aiming to alleviate congestion and ensure smooth movement on platforms during the busy summer vacation period.

By limiting the sale of platform tickets, railway authorities intend to manage foot traffic more effectively and enhance passenger safety and convenience. The post from the DRM stated, “To prevent overcrowding expected during the summer vacations, platform ticket sales are restricted from 18.04.2025 to 15.05.2025 to avoid any untoward incidents.”

In separate announcement, on Thursday, April 18, the Mumbai Metro Line 3 (Aqua Line) will operate on revised timings due to the final trial run for the Aarey to Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) section. Metro services on that day will begin at 8:30 AM, instead of the usual 6:30 AM, and continue until 10:30 PM.

The update was shared through an official announcement on X (formerly Twitter). The change is part of the final integration trial between the Aarey–BKC corridor and the newly added stretch extending to Acharya Atre Chowk, which includes six additional stations.
