Mumbai Traffic Advisory: Mumbai Traffic Police have imposed a long-term one-way restriction on Shankarrao Naram Path in Worli to manage movement during the ongoing road concreting work. The corridor will remain one-way round the clock until December 7, 2025. Officials said the decision was needed as nearly half of the 12-metre stretch has been dug up for the project, leaving limited space for two-way traffic.
The one-way route will operate from Ganpatrao Kadam Marg towards Pandurang Budhkar Marg. Police said the move will help reduce heavy congestion usually seen in this busy commercial zone. The order was issued by Dr Dipali Dhate, DCP (HQ & Central Traffic), under the Motor Vehicles Act. Motorists have been asked to follow instructions and cooperate with the temporary arrangement for smoother flow.

Traffic police have requested commuters to follow display boards, respect diversions and drive cautiously in the work zone.
In separate news, Mumbai is set to build a large underground tunnel network aimed at reducing traffic across the city. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, speaking at IIMUN’s Youth Connect event on November 24, referred to the upcoming system as Mumbai’s “Paatal Lok,” drawing a comparison to the web series. He said the government plans to create a series of tunnels running in several directions, forming a parallel route beneath existing roads. Fadnavis added that this shadow network would ease pressure on major roads and work alongside expanding Metro corridors to improve overall movement in the city.
