Mumbai Water Cut: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) announced on Friday that there will be a 10 per cent water cut in certain parts of the city and eastern suburbs from January 27 to February 7 due to maintenance work. During this 12-day period, a 10 percent water cut has been implemented in Mumbai city, eastern suburbs, as well as some parts of Thane and Bhiwandi.

The civic body explained that the annual maintenance of the pneumatic gate system will take place at Pise in Thane district, which supplies water to various parts of Mumbai.

Mumbai Water Cut: Check Affected Areas

The work is expected to impact water supply to most civic wards in the island city, eastern suburbs, as well as some areas within the Thane and Bhiwandi municipal corporations that receive water from the BMC.

There will be a 10 percent water reduction in the entire city division, 'A' (Naval Dockyard), 'B' division (entire), 'C' division (Bhendi Bazaar, Bohri Mohalla, Ghoghari Mohalla), 'E' division (entire), as well as 'F South' and 'F North' divisions.

The civic body has appealed to residents in Mumbai, Thane and Bhiwandi to use water judiciously and avoid wastage during the maintenance period.
