Mumbai Weather Update: Parts of Maharashtra are expected to witness increased rainfall on Sunday, September 28, as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Mumbai and Pune, Raigad, and Palghar.
Mumbai Weather Update: City Soaks In Overnight Rain
Amid the red alert issued for the city on Saturday evening, Mumbai soaked in overnight heavy rainfall, with intensity reduced in the morning, but the weather department has anticipated more rain as the red alert continues on Sunday, September 28.

A civic official said, quoting the IMD's forecast issued at 8 am, said Mumbai will witness "cloudy sky with heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm/lightning and gusty winds reaching 40-50kmph very likely in the city & suburbs."
Mumbai Tides Today
There will be a high tide of 3.24 metres at 2.55 pm and a low tide of 1.31 metres at 8.50 pm, an official was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.
Maharashtra Weather Today: Red Alert As Increased Rainfall Expected
- The rainfall is expected to intensify in parts of Maharashtra, including Raigad, Thane, Pune, Palghar, and others, as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted increased rainfall activity till September 30.
- The weather panel has issued a warning for isolated thunderstorms in Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra, and Marathwada, accompanied by lightning and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30-40 kmph.
- Besides, widespread and heavy rainfall is expected in Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra, and Marathwada.
- The State Emergency Operation Centre has issued a warning for potential urban flooding in several districts, including low-lying areas in Mumbai, Raigad, Thane, Palghar, Ratnagiri, and Sindudurg. Residents have been advised to stay alert.
