Mumbai Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for thunderstorms and lightning in Mumbai. The city will continue to have some relief from the intense heat this week. Wednesday morning it brought rain to most of Mumbai, after a brief break in the precipitation that relieved the city's people of the oppressive heat and humidity.
Most parts of the city are expected to receive heavy rain today, with temperatures ranging from 26 to 33 degrees Celsius. Despite the extreme humidity, rain will provide relief to the metropolis. In the last 24 hours, IMD has reported relative humidity of roughly 94 percent.
According to forecasts, the upcoming week will be rainy for Mumbai residents—rainfall patterns in the city range from heavy to light. The IMD forecast for June 19 is typically cloudy with heavy rain. The highest temperature is expected to be 26 to 33 degrees Celsius.
On June 20, the city is anticipated to have light rains with temperatures ranging from 26 to 33 degrees Celsius.
Over the week, the temperature drops a little. It is expected that June 21 and June 22 will bring mostly cloudy skies and light rain to the city. The highest temperature will range from 26 to 25 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature will be 34 degrees Celsius.
Later, rain is expected to fall on June 23 and 24 in Mumbai city. There is a predicted range for the minimum temperature of 23 to 24 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature of 32 to 33 degrees Celsius.
IMD Issues Yellow Alert In Maharashtra
In a number of Maharashtra districts, including Amravati, Washim, Akola, Hingoli, Chandrapur, Nanded, Gadchiroli, and a few more, IMD has issued a yellow alert for thunderstorms and lightning. In certain places, thunderstorm activity will result from the interaction of winds in the upper atmosphere, according to Sunil Kamble, Director of IMD Mumbai.
