In a shocking incident, a science project created by a Class 10 student in Nagpur sparked alarm among local residents and prompted an immediate response from the police. The project led to the summoning of police and the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), creating a tense atmosphere in the neighbourhood.

The student identified as Devendra Nayak, a student at Mahatma Gandhi School, left his science project at home. The project, which included electronic devices and jewellery stored in a box, raised concerns when his mother discovered it and informed his father, Dhaniram Nayak.

Suspecting that the box may have dangerous materials, Dhaniram Nayak immediately took it in an open area and called the police, attracting the attention of local residents, news agency PTI reported citing officials.

After receiving the information, the police and BDDS quickly responded with DCP Lohit Matani dispatched to the scene. They examined the box in a nearby forest using a bomb detector, ultimately finding no explosive materials inside it.

The incident comes at a time when several CRPF schools across the country recently received an email threatening that they would be bombed. According to the officials, the email, sent on Monday night, threatened explosions at all CRPF schools by 11 am on Tuesday. An investigation began immediately and the threat was found to be a hoax. Earlier, an explosion also took place outside a CRPF school in Delhi’s Rohini and several shops and vehicles had also been damaged.
