A retired teacher, his wife, and their two adult sons were found dead at their home in Maharashtra’s Nagpur on Wednesday morning. The police suspected it to be a case of suicide. A suicide note was also found in the house, which pointed to the family being under stress due to the arrest of one of the sons in a fraud case registered at Pandhurna police station in Madhya Pradesh.
Neighbours alerted the police after noticing an unusual silence at the family's residence in Nagpur’s Mowad village. After opening the door of the house, the police noticed that four family members were hanging lifelessly from ceiling hooks.
The deceased members been identified as 68-year-old retired teacher Vijay Madhukar Pachori, his 55-year-old wife Mala and their sons Ganesh (38) and Deepak (36), news agency PTI reported citing police.
The suicide note had the signatures of all four members. Following the incident, the Narkhed police have registered a case of accidental death and are conducting further investigation into the matter.
In another incident, a 42-year-old area manager of Bajaj Finance died by suicide in Uttar Pradesh's Jhansi. The deceased identified as Tarun Saxena, left a suicide note, saying that his senior at work was pressuring him to meet targets for the last two months and threatening him with salary deductions.
However, Bajaj Finance has not responded to the incident. Before taking the extreme step, Tarun locked his wife and children in another room. He was later found dead in his room by the house help.
