A seven-year-old girl died after falling from a scooter ridden by her grandfather and being struck by a mini truck in Maharashtra’s Nagpur. The accident took place on Tuesday evening on a road connecting Gopal Nagar to Padole Square. Following the incident, the authorities started an investigation into the matter. 

The girl was riding a pillion on the scooter with her grandfather to attend a dance class. An unidentified truck hit the scooter from behind, causing them to fall on the road, where the girl was subsequently hit by the rear wheels of a mini truck traveling in the same direction. Despite being rushed to the hospital, she suffered severe head injuries and unfortunately succumbed to her injuries.

Following the incident, the Pratap Nagar police have registered a case against the unidentified vehicle's driver and launched an investigation to identify and nab the culprit. 

In another incident, a Bengaluru woman lost her life after being hit by a speeding Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus and dragged by a cab for approximately 12 metres. 

The 28-year-old woman was riding a scooter when the incident happened. The bus and cab drivers have been arrested, police said. The police identified the woman as Monika S, a resident of Maruthi Nagar on Ullal Main Road. 

She worked as a receptionist at a Royal Enfield showroom in Nagarabhavi and was on her way to work when the accident occurred at around 9.50 am, an Indian Express report stated.
