Pune Metro Update: The Pune Metro on Saturday announced that the metro services will be extended on Sunday to accommodate the possible surge in passengers for the 'Run For Unity' marathon. The authority stated that the public sports event will be conducted at SP College, adding that the metro services on both lines will start from 3 am. It further stated that the services are extended as hundreds of people from all the age groups are likely to participate in the event. The Pune Metro also advised the commuters to follow the guidelines and maximise the use of public transportation to avoid any inconveniences.
While providing details, the authority stated that the metro services will be available every 15 minutes on both routes for 3 hours between 3 am and 6 am. It further stated that the trains will operate as per the schedule after 6 am, adding that the extra services will provide relief to the commuters. The Pune Metro emphasised that the operation timing will enable the commuters to arrive at the event on time.

The National Unity Day, also known as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, was celebrated across the country to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of veteran freedom fighter Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered a floral tribute at the Statue of Unity in the morning, followed by taking an oath along with thousands of countrymen.
"I solemnly swear that I will dedicate myself to the preservation of the unity, integrity, and security of the nation. I will also make every effort to spread this message among my countrymen. I take this oath in the spirit of my country's unity, which was made possible by the foresight and hard work of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. I also resolve to do my part to ensure the internal security of my country," he stated.
