Pune-Mumbai Expressway Update: The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) on Friday announced that there will be no toll hike on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway until 2030. The announcement from the MSRDC is expected to provide a great relief to the commuters of the region.

The authorities stated that while the toll rates on the national highways have increased this year, it does not apply on Pune-Mumbai Expressway as it comes under the jurisdiction of MSRDC. The officials further stated that the toll pricing system for this expressway was decided by the MSRDC authorities on April 1, 2005.

They also informed that the last toll revision on the expressway was conducted almost two years back. While many of the experts suggested to increase the toll, the authorities confirmed that there will be no hike for the next five years. Apart from the daily commuters, the step is also expected to provide a great convenience to the local businesses as the expressway connects two major financial cities of the state.

Apart from this, the MSRDC on Thursday announced that more toll will be collected on the Hindu Hrudaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samruddhi Expressway from April 1. The expressway is also very crucial for the commuters as it connects Mumbai and Nagpur, two major cities of Maharashtra. While providing more details, the officials stated that driving on the expressway will become expansive by up to 20 per cent.
