Pune News: On October 10, twenty-eight students from DY Patil School in Shahu Nagar, Pimpri Chinchwad, were admitted to hospital due to food poisoning. According to reports from news agency ANI, some of the affected students have since been discharged after receiving initial treatment.
The incident occurred after the school served sandwiches to around 350 students during breakfast. Shortly after consuming the food, several students began to vomit and showed signs of illness. All hospitalised students are currently stable and out of danger.

DY Patil School students from class 5 to 7 were impacted, with many students experiencing mild food poisoning symptoms. While twenty-eight were hospitalised, most were released by the evening. The MIDC Bhosari Police Station is investigating the matter, with Senior Police Inspector Ganesh Jamdar stating that they have recorded statements from about 30 students. Food inspectors are also examining the situation and actions will be taken based on their findings.
In response to the incident, the school administration has issued an apology and pledged to take strict measures against those responsible for the unsatisfactory food quality. Concerned parents rushed to the school upon hearing the news and some students required ambulance transport to the hospital.

Abhay Khotkar, the school's president, confirmed that food samples have been sent for laboratory testing. He assured that appropriate actions will be taken against any individuals found accountable for the incident. "Appropriate action will be taken against those responsible," he added.
In similar incident, on October 1, thirty-eight students from Kalwa Sahyadri School in Thane, Maharashtra, were hospitalised due to food poisoning after eating khichdi at school. The affected students were from Classes 5 and 6.
