Pune News: A fire broke out in the reserved forest near California Society on NIBM-Undri Road, raising concerns among local residents. The blaze ignited in the evening, leading to heavy traffic congestion on connecting roads, which delayed fire tenders' arrival.
Despite these challenges, the fire department, supported by proactive residents, managed to control the fire quickly. Local residents played a crucial role by helping firefighters and preventing the flames from spreading further into the dense forest.

Although the incident caused temporary panic, there were no reported injuries or damage to nearby properties. An investigation into the cause of the fire is currently underway.
In a separate news, Pune court on Thursday remanded a 19-year-old, Hrutik Sham Bansode, to police custody after he allegedly consumed alcohol and caused a crash involving five vehicles in Pashan. The incident occurred around 3:30 PM on Thursday when Bansode, driving an M G Gloster SUV, collided with several vehicles while speeding from Nanaware Chowk to Shivshakti Chowk on the Sus Road. The accident left Pushkar Patil, 40, and his daughter injured. Patil filed an FIR at the Baner police station, stating that Bansode had lost control of the vehicle, resulting in damages to a private bus, four cars, and the SUV.

Bansode, a resident of Baner and a “patient caretaker,” was arrested and charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Motor Vehicle Act. Police sought his custody to determine the SUV’s owner and conduct a medical examination.
