Pune News: In a move to modernise urban mobility and reduce parking troubles, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) on Tuesday rolled out a WhatsApp-based ‘Pay and Park’ facility. The new system, introduced during the civic standing committee meeting, was launched by municipal commissioner Shekhar Singh.

The service enables users to book parking slots through WhatsApp, eliminating the need for manual tickets or paperwork. It is currently active at 10 major locations across the city. Once a booking is made under a person’s name for a specific time, the system blocks the slot until that period. If the vehicle is not parked within the given window, the slot is released automatically for others.
