Pune Traffic Advisory For Ashadhi Wari 2025: In preparation for the annual Ashadhi Wari Palkhi processions of Sant Tukaram Maharaj and Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj, the Pune District Collector's Office has issued a detailed traffic advisory for June 17 to June 20, 2025. The advisory includes diversions and restrictions in Pune city, rural areas, Dehu and Alandi to facilitate smooth movement of pilgrims and ensure safety.
Pune Traffic Advisory From June 17 To 19: Initial Phase Diversions
From June 17, 12:00 PM to June 19, 12:00 AM, multiple roads in and around Dehu, Alandi and Pune will be affected. Both heavy and light vehicles will be restricted along the procession routes. Proper signage and police personnel will assist in enforcing these diversions.

Pune Traffic Advisory: Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi Route Details
The Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi will begin from Dehu on June 18 and rest at Akurdi Vitthal Mandir. It will resume the journey to Pune on June 20. The route includes Dehu Inamdar Wada, Anagadshah Baba Dargah, Chincholi Paduka, Dehu Kaman, Bhakti Shakti Tilak Chowk, Akurdi Vitthal Mandir, Khanda Mula, Shivaji Chowk, Mahavir Chowk, Morwadi Chowk, Pimpri Chowk, Pallav Nagar, Nashik Phata, Fugewadi, Dapodi and Harris Bridge.
Pune Traffic Advisory: Heavy Vehicle Bans For Tukaram Palkhi
From June 16, 12:00 PM onwards, heavy vehicles will not be allowed on the Old Mumbai-Pune Highway (Dehu Kaman to Bhakti Shakti Chowk). An alternate route via Triveni Nagar, Talwade, Ganeshnagar, KNB Chowk and Khandelwal Chowk to Dehu has been provided.
Additionally, heavy vehicles will be restricted on the Talegaon-Chakan Road from Dehu Phata to HP Chowk to Dehu, starting June 18 at 9:00 PM.
Pune Traffic Advisory: Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi Route And Schedule
The Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi will leave from Alandi on June 19. It will rest in Alandi on the same day and move toward Pune on June 20. The route includes Nagar Parishad Chowk, Yogiraj Chowk, Dehu Phata, Chanholi Phata, Alankapuram Chowk, Thorlya Paduka (rest stop), Magazine Chowk, Vitthal Rukmini Chowk, Dighi, Bopkhel Phata, and Vishrantwadi.
Pune Traffic Advisory: Heavy Vehicle Restrictions Around Alandi
From June 17, 12:00 PM to June 19, 12:00 AM, heavy vehicle movement will be restricted on routes from Chakan to Alandi, Chimbali to Alandi, Shel Pimpalgaon and Vadgaon Ghenand to Alandi, and Markal to Alandi. Alternate routes include Alandi Phata or Chimbali Phata to Bharatmata Chowk, Panjarpol Chowk, and Alankapuram Chowk.

The following routes will also be closed during the same time:

- Moshi Chowk to Alandi
- Vishrantwadi to Alandi via Dighi

Pune Traffic Advisory: Restricted Vehicle Entry Into Alandi
Vehicles (except emergency and procession-related) will not be allowed to enter Alandi from Holi Phata, Dudulgaon Naka, Kelgaon Chowk, Bapdev Chowk, Indrayani Hospital, Vishrantwadi, Dhanori Phata and PCS Chowk.

Pune Traffic Advisory: Complete Vehicle Ban On Alandi Routes On June 20
From June 20, 12:01 AM, all vehicles will be barred on the route from Vishrantwadi to Bopkhel to Dighi to Magazine Chowk to Alankapuram to Panjarpol Chowk.
Pune Traffic Advisory: Additional restrictions
Vehicles from Pune, Bhosari, Chakan and Chimbali will not be allowed entry into Alandi
Heavy vehicles from Tulapur are restricted from entering Alandi via Markal. They must take the alternate route from Markal to Koyali to Shel Pimpalgaon

Pune Traffic Advisory: Extended Traffic Control Until June 20
From June 19, 12:01 AM to June 20, 10:00 PM, additional restrictions will be in effect on highways and rural roads as the palakhis progress toward Pandharpur. Key areas like Dive Ghat, Saswad, Jejuri, Phaltan, and Malshiras will have crowd-control measures and movement restrictions.
Safety and Enforcement Measures
Barricades, directional signs, and volunteers will guide traffic and pilgrims. The PMC and traffic police will enforce parking bans, barricade entries and ensure emergency services are on standby.
All unauthorised banners, hoardings, and structures along the procession routes must be removed. Hazardous roadside trees will be trimmed to avoid accidents.
Pune Traffic Advisory: Public Cooperation Requested
The administration has appealed to residents to avoid unnecessary travel through restricted areas. Live traffic updates will be shared by PMC and the traffic police via official channels.
These traffic rules have been announced under the powers provided by Sections 115, 116(1)(B), 116(4), and 117 of the Maharashtra Motor Vehicles Act, 1996.
