Several areas in Pune will experience a day-long water supply disruption on Thursday as the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) announced that it will conduct maintenance and repair works at various water distribution units. The civic body announced that the water supply from the Bhama Askhed unit to eastern localities such as Wadgaon Sheri, Vimannagar, Nagar Road and Chandannagar will also be halted for the day.
PMC officials stated that the repairs had been delayed to avoid disruptions during recent festivals. Water supply is expected to resume at low pressure on Friday morning and will gradually normalise.
Residents have expressed concerns about ongoing water supply issues, with many urging the administration to inspect not only the pumping units but also the city’s distribution network, pipelines and valves. Former corporators have also reported receiving numerous complaints from citizens regarding poor water pressure, reported TOI.

Faulty distribution lines have been blamed for persistent low-pressure water supply in several areas. The pumping stations undergoing maintenance include Parvati, Bhama Askhed, Wadgaon, New Holkar, Warje, SNDT and Pashan.
Similarly, Pimpri Chinchwad will also face water supply cuts on Thursday, with supply resuming at low pressure on Friday. Residents are advised to store water and use it sparingly during the disruption.
