Pune Weather: Pune residents were advised to stay alert on Saturday evening after the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Mumbai, issued a Yellow Warning for the city. The advisory, released at 4 PM, predicted light to moderate showers with thunderstorms and strong winds over the next few hours. The warning remains valid for three hours.

According to the IMD’s nowcast, parts of Pune have already witnessed light rainfall and more spells of rain with lightning activity are expected in isolated areas. People were urged to avoid open spaces and take precautions, particularly in low-lying locations where water may collect quickly.

Maharashtra Weather

The IMD has also extended similar alerts to several other districts in Maharashtra. In Marathwada, districts such as Latur, Solapur, Sambhaji Nagar, Satara, Hingoli, Jalna, Parbhani, Beed, Sangli, Nanded and Dharashiv may experience thunderstorms with wind speeds of 30–40 kmph. Rainfall of light to moderate intensity is also likely in these areas.

Mumbai Metropolitan Region Weather Forecast

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region, including Mumbai city, suburbs, Thane, Palghar, Raigad and Ratnagiri, has been warned of moderate showers along with chances of lightning and gusty winds. North Maharashtra districts such as Nasik, Jalgaon and Ahilyanagar, as well as coastal areas like Sindhudurg and Kolhapur, are also under Yellow Warning.
