In separate news, a 22-year-old woman from Pune has been booked for allegedly filing a false complaint against a man, accusing him of posing as a delivery agent and sexually assaulting her. Police commissioner Amitesh Kumar had earlier suggested the complaint was made to mislead the investigation. Officials confirmed the woman and the man knew each other for over a year and had been in contact. CCTV footage, phone analysis, and other evidence showed the man entered the flat with consent and no assault occurred.

Over 500 officers were involved in the probe, which included checking footage from more than 500 cameras. The selfie and message cited in the complaint were allegedly shared voluntarily and later altered.
