A major part of Shah Rukh Khan’s mega-blockbuster film ‘Jawan’ was shot at Pune’s Sant Tukaram Nagar Metro Station. The film, directed by Atlee features a preview of the station in its teaser which has generated a lot of buzz among the fans. Some fans of SRK even described the scene as the moment where the biggest superstar in the Hindi film industry was seen at its best performance.
The shooting was done for 15 days in September 2021, after the film production company obtained permission from Maha-Metro in June 2021 at a rate of Rs 2 lakh per day. The station is part of the PCMC-Swargate Route of Line 1 of the Pune Metro. Security measures were also enhanced to ensure smooth filming of the movie in the public transport area.

Pune Metro Rail also took to microblogging site X (formerly Twitter) to share the information describing it as a proud moment for Pune and its citizens.
