A gas tanker explosion rocked the Chakan area of Pimpri Chinchwad early morning on Sunday, causing significant damage to surrounding structures and vehicles. Despite the severity of the blast, which occurred at about 5 am, authorities have confirmed that there have been no casualties in the incident.
The force of the explosion was powerful enough to inflict damage on adjacent hotels, residences and parked trucks. The area has been cordoned off as investigations continue. Meanwhile, the preliminary reports suggest that the explosion resulted from illegal gas refilling within the tanker.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Pimpri Chinchwad, Shivaji Pawar, stated that while the explosion was substantial, there is no immediate cause for public concern as no injuries have been reported so far.

"In the morning, in a Chakan area of Pimpri Chinchwad, an explosion occurred, which was so massive that it damaged nearby parked trucks and areas. The primary possible reason for the explosion is illegal refilling of the gas in the tanker," the official said as quoted by news agency ANI.
Police have registered a case and are conducting a thorough investigation to ascertain the full circumstances of the incident. DCP Pawar also assured the community, emphasising that the situation is under control and that further details will be provided as the investigation progresses.
