Taking to X, Fadnavis said, "A truly historic and emotional moment - the dream of a 'Samruddha' Maharashtra has come true! 'Hinduhrudaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg' is now complete- it's not just a road, but a strong step towards a brighter future. This was only possible because of the love and support of the people of Maharashtra!"
Earlier on June 5, the CM inaugurated the last phase of the project. Hce had stated that the project would play an important role in the state's development, and the highway would be a corridor of prosperity.
He said that the highway will be connected to Vadhan Port shortly. Highlighting the fast work on the highway, he said that land has been acquired in record time. He added that the route will provide connectivity to JNPT port for 24 districts of the state, including Vidarbha, Marathwada, and North Maharashtra.
Speaking about the spending on the Samruddhi Mahamarg, CM Fadnavis said that Rs 55,335 crore has been spent on this 701 km long highway.
As per the official release, the 76-kilometre expressway passes through Nashik and Thane districts. The highway also boasts of an eight-kilometer-long Igatpuri tunnel, which is the longest in the state.

Passing through the Sahyadri mountain range in this area has made it a very difficult route for the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation to overcome this engineering challenge.
Of the 701 km, the first phase of 520 km of the Samruddhi Mahamarg was inaugurated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in December 11, 2023, the second phase of 80 km between Shirdi and Bharvir by ex-CM Eknath Shinde on May 26, 2023, the third phase of 25 km between Bharvir and Igatpuri by the former public works minister (MSRDC) on March 4, 2024.
