In a shocking incident, four people died. In contrast, three others were injured after a car collided with some two-wheelers and overturned on an Ambernath flyover in Maharashtra's Thane district on Friday.
The officials said that the accident took place at around 7.15 pm on the flyover, which connects the eastern part of the city to the western part.
According to a report by News18, the driver of the car had a heart attack after which he lost control of the car and rammed into the motorcycles.
A purported video of the incident has surfaced on social media, which shows that the impact of the collision was so severe that the person riding the affected two-wheeler was thrown into the air and fell on the road below the flyover, police said.
The police said that the vehicle rammed 4-5 vehicles before turning turtle. Speaking about the case, Ambernath Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Shailesh Kale said that four people, including the car driver, were killed in the accident. He added that the two-wheeler, involved in the accident, was completely damaged.
He added that efforts were underway to identify the deceased.
