In another incident of muscle-flexing by Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), one of its party workers slapped a woman for allegedly abusing her husband during an argument at a railway station. A video has gone viral on multiple social media platforms in which the MNS worker is seen slapping and shouting at the victim. However, the party workers reportedly claimed that the woman assaulted her husband even after he apologised. They further claimed that the woman made derogatory remarks against him and other men of Maharashtra, leading to the outburst. The victim is seen apologising to all the Maharashtrians, further pledging to not insult the local people in the viral video.
Swara Ghate, the MNS member, along with the other party members, took the woman to a local party office after the conflict and directed her to apologise, reported NDTV. "Something happened to me today at Kalwa station. I hurt someone, a Maharashtrian man. I abused him, even raised my hand on him, for which I apologise to all of Maharashtra and the Maharashtrian people. Thank you," the woman stated in the video. Ghate then slapped her and asked her to never repeat the mistake of insulting a Maharashtrian.

"Never say it again to the people of Maharashtra. Did you understand? That's it," Ghate stated. "A woman raises her hand on a man, and he does not say anything to her. Why does the law apply only to women? She kept abusing my husband for half an hour, but I didn't say anything to her. I was going to file a case against her, but looking at her daughter and her family, I'm letting her go," she added.
While reacting to the video, NCP (S) MP Supriya Sule stated that the police should investigate the matter, further stating that the country will run as per the constitution. "I request everyone that fighting and quarreling is not a good thing. The police should investigate. The country will not run like this. The country will run only as per the Constitution. The country will not run through fighting and quarreling," Sule said.
