A man allegedly killed his mother in Maharashtra’s Thane district on Sunday evening for not serving him delicious food, police said on Tuesday. The incident occurred at Velu village of Murbad subdivision when the accused had a fight with her son for not serving him tasty food. Police have registered a case and an investigation is underway.
According to the FIR, the woman and her son used to have frequent quarrels over domestic issues. On Sunday, the accused complained to her mother that she did not cook and serve him tasty food. After the quarrel broke out the accused allegedly attacked his mother with a sickle, injuring her neck following which she collapsed and died.
Police reached the incident spot after some neighbours alerted them about the incident. Police sent the body to a government hospital for a postmortem examination.

After the accused attacked her mother with the sickle, he had an overdose of sleeping pills. The accused was then hospitalised by his relatives, who underwent treatment at the hospital. Police have not arrested the accused yet but they have registered a case against him under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on Monday.
