1. Known As The Centre Of The World

Thousands of pilgrims attempt the difficult ascent to the peak each year in the hopes of attaining enlightenment.

For Hindus, Lord Shiva resides atop Mount Kailash. It is also believed to be the spot where Shiva defeated Ravana, the ruler of the demons. Scholars have been contemplating the mystery of the Om symbol's creation on Mount Kailash for decades. Some think it was made by Indian sages, and some think it was made by Chinese Emperor Fu Xi. The origins of the Om symbol are the subject of several hypotheses, although no one is certain of its exact creation. 

4. The Lakes' Astonishing Resemblance To The Sun And Moon

The striking similarity between the lakes and the sun and moon is only one of the many mysteries surrounding Mount Kailash. 6. On Mount Kailash, There Is A Face Resembling Lord Shiva

NASA scientists have noticed that Mount Kailash, located in the far southwest of Tibet, has a surprising secret: it resembles Lord Shiva's face. Mount Kailash parikrama, a holy pilgrimage, starts in Yamdwar, where the South face of Kailash is visible, and continues until Dirapuk, where the North face is visible. The mountain changes with each step, showing off new features as it moves from the south face to the west face and ultimately the north face.

The mountain changes as hikers move forward, revealing its west face, which is where a large, human-like face appears. Bhole Bhakts, who are devotees of Lord Shiva, consider it to be the face of Lord Shiva.
