1. Brihadeeswarar Temple - This magnificent temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It displays the magnificent architectural designs of the Chola Kings and was constructed in the eleventh century AD. This tower, known as the Vimana, is 216 feet tall and is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. This tower is said to be the tallest in the world, and the Kumbam atop it is reputedly made of a single granite block and weighs an incredible 80 tonnes.

2. Jambukeswarar Temple - This seven-tiered gopuram temple dedicated to Lord Shiva features five enclosures, carvings, and exquisite architecture. The Appu Lingam is where the Shivlinga is stored. This Shivlinga has an underground stream beneath it. According to legend, Goddess Parvati, as Akilandeswari, performed penance here beneath the shelter of the Jambu tree. She used the water of the Cauvery River to make a lingam. She was happy with her devotion, and Lord Shiva came to teach her the Shiva Gnana. Every day at noon, priests perform this, which is a sight to witness.

3. Ekambareswara Temple - Devoted to Lord Shiva and the Earth, this temple is one of the five Panch Booth Sthalas, or elements of the universe. According to legend, Goddess Parvati created a sand Shivlinga as a penance here. Before her stood Lord Shiva, who was referred to be the Lord of the Mango Tree.

4. Nagaraja Temple - Vasuki, the serpent king, is worshipped in the Nagaraja Temple. On Sundays, unique ceremonies are carried out here. According to folklore, a rural girl was mowing the lawn when she noticed blood spurting from her axe after it unintentionally struck a stone. Following the identification of the stone by one of the visiting villagers as the idol of a five-headed serpent, a temple was constructed at this spot. It is still thought that blood is constantly dripping from the statue, which is why the ground beneath it is still moist. The soil is said to possess mystical properties that can heal a variety of illnesses

5. Gangaikonda Cholapuram - The Gangaikondacholapuram Temple, a remarkable architectural and engineering marvel, is located in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. There is one of the biggest Nandi statues in all of southern India at the magnificent Gangaikonda Temple dedicated to Lord Siva.

6. Murugan Temple - Lord Murugan is the subject of the Thiruchendur Murugan Temple, one of the most popular temple complexes in southern India. The temple is one of the wealthiest in Tamil Nadu and one of the biggest in terms of geographical area in all of India.

7. Kamakshi Amman Temple - Located in the ancient city of Kanchipuram, the Kamakshi Amman Temple is a well-known Hindu temple devoted to the goddess Kamakshi. One of the forms that the goddess Parvati takes on is that of Goddess Kamakshi. The temple is crowded with worshippers every year as a result of its widespread fame among devotees.
