Annavaram Satyanarayana Swamy Kalyanam 2025: The Sri Veera Venkata Satyanarayana Swamy Kalyanam, which is the heavenly wedding of Lord Satyanarayana, is celebrated in the Sri Veera Venkata Satyanarayana Swamy Vari Devasthanam at Annavaram in East Godavari district in India. The believers celebrate this occasion with great enthusiasm. While traditionally the festival had been commemorated on Megha Suddha Ekadasi (January-February), currently it is held for six days from Vaisakha Suddha Ekadasi, typically April or May. The Sri Veera Venkata Satyanarayana Swamy Kalyanam, the divine marriage of Lord Satyanarayana, is of great religious and ritual significance, particularly in the Annavaram temple of Andhra Pradesh. Pilgrims from all over the country come in big numbers to invoke the blessings of the Lord for good health, prosperity and freedom from the miseries of life. Lord Satyanarayana, who is believed to be the very form of truth and righteousness, is believed to grant wishes and impart divine grace upon devotees who sincerely perform the rituals. The Kalyanam has a close association with the Satyanarayana Vratham, a holy oath undertaken by the devotees in order to give thanks when their prayers are answered. Participation in the Kalyanam and performance of the Vratham signify a devotee's adherence to faith and devotion. The ceremony represents divine favour and religious fulfilment since individuals take part with hope, reverence and sincere prayer.

Annavaram Satyanarayana Swamy Kalyanam 2025: Rituals

Observed for six days from Vaisakha Suddha Ekadasi (April–May), the festival encompasses the vibrant rituals of processions, Lord's Viharam, Mahanivedana, a car festival and cultural events. The celebrations start with the arrangement of Lord Satyanarayana as a bridegroom, representing the initiation of the sacred union.

The celebration starts with the Vighneswara Puja, where devotees pray to Lord Vighneswara to vanquish all problems and mark a smooth onset of the Kalyanam ritual. Special offerings called vayanams are offered to married women, seeking their blessings for a prosperous life. The Satyanarayana Vratham is then performed by the devotees. Satyanarayana Vratha Katha is also recited on this auspicious occasion. Shri Satyanarayan Katha is a sacred tale which highlights the virtue of truthfulness, devotion and the blessing of God.

The last phase of the festivities marks the Kalyanam ritual, which symbolises the divine wedding of Lord Satyanarayana. Here, priests conduct the wedding ceremony of the divine Lor,d and devotees offer prasadam and dakshina. Thousands of devotees flock to witness this sacred event, which brings them together in worship, joy and pursuit of spiritual fulfilment.
