Ashadha is the fourth Hindu Lunar month which began today, on 23rd June 2024. The Hindu month of Ashadha marks the beginning of the monsoon. Due to certain unfavourable beliefs, Ashada month is observed as a null month. Ashada month is seen to be unlucky for doing auspicious tasks like marriage, housewarming, and holy thread ceremonies, among other things. Dakshinayana begins in the month of Ashada, and followers are supposed to worship the Saptamatruka Shakti Goddesses, Lord Bhairava, Lord Narasimha, and Mahishasura during this period. More beliefs are being highlighted throughout the month of Ashadha.

Ashadha Month 2024: Significance Of Ashadha Maas
Ashadha month is also known as Shunya Mas and Chaturmas since it marks the start of Chaturmas, a period in which Lord Vishnu enters yog nidra and no auspicious acts are performed for four months.
Even though there are no auspicious events planned during this month, Ashadha is regarded as the most wonderful time to go on pilgrimage. This month is especially important for praying and rituals, and the devotee's every wish comes true. This month, there is a magnificent parade honouring Lord Jagannath that draws spectators from all around. Notably, it is recommended to refrain from auspicious and joyful actions during Chaturmas; hence, this month should be dedicated to increased focus on prayers and rituals.

Ashadha Month 2024: Things To Do During Ashadha Maas
During Ashadha, it is recommended to worship Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Surya in addition to Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva. During this month, it is advised to provide water to the Sun every morning. Wealth, success, and respect are accumulated as a result of this activity. During Ashadha, those who worship Surya Deva and perform rituals in her honour frequently experience healing from illnesses and inadequacies.

During this time, worshipping Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi using lotus, crimson, or Kaner flowers is encouraged. Even if there may not be many lucky events, Ashadha is respected for its importance in religion and customs. Yajna and almsgiving are also very important at this time. Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Vishnu provide particular benefits to those who do Yajna and havan during Ashadha.
