Lord Balarama, revered as an incarnation of the serpent deity Sesh Naag and an extension of Lord Krishna, is worshipped with unwavering devotion on Balarama Jayanti. This sacred occasion falls during the monsoon season, and devotees pay homage to the Lord with utmost dedication. Nicknamed Haldhar, Lord Balarama is deeply connected to nature, inspiring farmers to plough their fields on this day. Additionally, agriculturalists seek his blessings to safeguard their crops from harm, demonstrating the profound significance of Balarama Jayanti in rural communities, where nature and spirituality entwine.
Balaram Jayanti 2024: Puja Vidhi For Hal Shashthi
On the auspicious occasion of Balaram Jayanti, devotees begin the day with an early morning bath, followed by the preparation of a sacred Puja thali. The temple is adorned with flowers and leaves, setting the stage for a reverent ceremony. The idols of Lord Krishna and Lord Balarama are placed in the temple, resplendent in exquisite jewellery and attire, and worshipped with great fervour.
Devotees observe a morning fast, breaking their fast only afternoon. Saints and devotees offer panchamrit abhisheka, a holy bath, to the idols of Lord Balarama and Lord Krishna. Special meals are offered to the deities, and sacred food is prepared and distributed among family, friends, and neighbours. The celebration is marked by lively dances and songs, creating a joyous atmosphere that honours the divine brothers.
