40-Day Braj Holi Significance And Rituals
The 40-day Holi festival of Braj begins on Basant Panchami and is incredibly special and divine. It starts with the planting of the 'Holi ka Danda' in the temples. During these days, devotees offer gulal and fresh flowers to Radha Rani and Krishna with great devotion in every temple of Braj. Here, the deities are pleased not only with colours but also with unique customs like Foolon Ki Holi, Lathmar Holi, and Laddu Holi. For the entire 40 days, devotees dance to devotional songs and consider themselves blessed to play Holi with Thakur Ji and Kishori Ji.
