Choti Diwali 2024: Significance
Chhoti Diwali holds great significance in Hindu culture. Celebrated a day before the main Diwali festivities, it marks the beginning of the Festival of Lights. This day symbolises the victory of good over evil and light over darkness. It's also associated with spiritual cleansing and purification. Hindus worship Lord Hanuman, the embodiment of strength and loyalty, and offer lamps to Lord Yama, seeking protection from evil spirits. Chhoti Diwali is a time for self-reflection, cleansing, and renewal, preparing individuals for the joy and celebrations of Diwali. By observing this day, devotees seek blessings, prosperity, and a fresh start, setting the tone for a brighter and more auspicious future.
Choti Diwali 2024: Puja Vidhi To Worship Lord Ganesha, Goddess Lakshmi And Saraswati
On Chhoti Diwali, begin by worshipping Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles. Offer flowers, sindoor and modak to the Lord and chant the Ganesha Mantra: "Om Shri Ganeshaya Namaha". Light a lamp and incense sticks to purify the atmosphere. Pray to Lord Ganesha for wisdom, prosperity, and protection from evil.
Next, worship Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity. Offer flowers, rice, and coins, symbolising wealth and prosperity. Chant the Lakshmi Mantra: "Om Shri Mahalakshmiyei Namaha". Light a lamp to illuminate her path and attract prosperity. Pray to Goddess Lakshmi for financial stability, good fortune, and happiness.
Finally, worship Goddess Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge and learning. Offer flowers and white sweets to the goddess. Chant the Saraswati Mantra: "Om Shri Saraswatyai Namaha". At the end, conclude the Choti Diwali Puja by performing aarti of all the gods.
