Dhanteras 2024: Puja Vidhi To Worship Lord Dhanwantri, Lord Kuber And Goddess Lakshmi

On Dhanteras, prepare a sacred space for worship by cleaning and decorating your home. Set up an altar with images or idols of Lord Dhanwantari, Lord Kuber, and Goddess Lakshmi. Place a small platform or chowki for the deities, covered with a red cloth. Arrange flowers, incense, candles, and diyas around the altar. Fill a small pot with water and sprinkle a few drops of Gangajal for the puja.

Begin the puja during the Pradosh Kaal (twilight hour) by lighting the diyas and incense. Offer prayers to Lord Ganesha, followed by Lord Dhanwantari, Lord Kuber, and Goddess Lakshmi. Recite the Dhanwantari Mantra ("Om Dhanwantari Raksemam"), Kuber Mantra ("Om Kuberaya Namaha"), and Lakshmi Mantra ("Om Shreem Mahalakshmiyei Namaha"). Offer flowers, akshat and sweets to each deity. Apply sandalwood paste and Kumkum on the idols or images. Perform aarti with a deepak (lamp) or camphor, circumambulating the deities. Chant the mantras 11 or 21 times to amplify the blessings.

Conclude the puja by offering gratitude and seeking blessings from the deities for good health, wealth, and prosperity. Distribute prasad (sweets and fruits) among family members. As a symbol of acquiring good fortune, purchase utensils, silver or gold items, or other valuables. Donate to charity or offer food to the needy, promoting compassion and kindness. Retain the puja items, including the diyas, in their designated space overnight, allowing the divine energy to permeate your home.
