Since these earthen lamps are supposed to ward off evil spirits and other negative energies and to represent kindness and purity, lighting diyas is a significant Hindu custom that is regarded as fortunate. The Hindu faith holds that lighting diyas on Diwali protects the family from early death, gives good fortune, and invokes Devi Lakshmi's blessings for success, wealth, and prosperity. Hindus believe that decorating your home's crossroads will help bring good vibes into your life. It is also thought to symbolise revitalization from both financial and health problems, bring good luck and prosperity into your life, symbolise protection from any negative energy or fight against bad energy, and be beneficial to one's health.

Diwali 2023: How Many Diyas To Light On Diwali As Well As Choti Diwali 

14 Diyas should be lit on Chhoti Diwali or Narak Chaturdashi and 13 Diyas must be lit on the day of Deepawali.
