Ekadashi December 2023: On the eleventh day of the two lunar phases in a month, Shukla Paksha and Krishna Paksha fall on the auspicious day of Ekadashi. In a spiritual sense, it refers to eleven senses that make up five sensory organs, five action organs, and the mind. It's regarded as one of the auspicious days to keep the fast (Vrat). Observing vrat involves calming the mind, controlling the ten senses, and avoiding rice, beans, and grains. According to science, the moon's phase affects a person's mental frequency on the day of Ekadashi. Thus, it is shown that the vrat of Ekadashi aids in focusing high mental energy in the proper direction and helps one abstain from illicit behaviours. It is an act of penance intended to master our senses and raise our consciousness. Each of the 24 Ekadashi that fall within a year has unique meanings and is connected to various Lord Vishnu incarnations.
