Keeping this fast makes one absolve themselves of past evils and releases their ancestors from the cycle of rebirth so that their souls can reach moksha. Ekadashi Shradh 2025: Rituals
During Pitru Paksha, it is highly significant to worship Lord Shaligram, along with providing meals for Brahmins and performing Tarpan to tosatisfy our ancestors. This practice can ease worries and remove roadblocks, earning us the blessings of those who came before us. With their blessings, unfinished business gets done, and family gets along better, creating a peaceful, prosperous, and happy home. Keeping the Ekadashi fast on this day pleases both Aryama, who is in charge of ancestors, and Lord Vishnu.
Additionally, make sure to worship Lord Shaligram and Tulsi Devi. Reciting the Bhagavad Gita and donating in the name of ancestors can bring peace to those who have passed away. Planting a Tulsi plant and worshipping a Peepal tree is also encouraged on this day. Donating food to those in need, performing Tarpan, and holding Brahmin feasts are ways to respect ancestors. It is believed that these practices bring peace and wealth to the family.
