1. Idol Installation (Pranapratishtha)

Installing a Ganesha idol marks the beginning of the festivities. Devotees bring home beautifully crafted idols, which are then ritually installed on a decorated pedestal. The idol is bathed, offered sacred threads, and adorned with flowers, garlands, and vermilion. This ritual symbolizes inviting Lord Ganesha to reside in the home, bringing prosperity and good fortune. The installation ceremony is accompanied by chanting and prayers, seeking Ganesha's blessings.

2. Daily Worship (Puja)

Daily worship is an essential ritual during Ganesh Chaturthi. Devotees offer prayers, flowers, fruits, and sweets to the idol. The puja involves chanting sacred mantras, performing aarti (lamp offering), and seeking Ganesha's blessings. This ritual helps cultivate a deeper connection with the divine, fostering spiritual growth and self-refinement. The daily worship reinforces the devotee's commitment to their spiritual journey, seeking guidance and protection from Lord Ganesha.

3. Offerings (Naivedya)

Offerings play a vital role in Ganesha worship. Devotees offer a variety of sweets, fruits, and savouries to the idol. Modak, a sweet dumpling, is Ganesha's favourite offering. The offerings symbolize the devotee's gratitude and surrender, seeking Ganesha's blessings and protection. The offerings are later distributed among family and friends, spreading joy and harmony.

Chanting sacred mantras and hymns is an integral part of Ganesha worship. Devotees chant the Ganesh Gayatri Mantra, the Ganesha Stuti, and other sacred hymns, seeking Ganesha's blessings. The chanting creates a divine atmosphere, purifying the mind and soul.

5. Immersion (Visarjan)

The immersion ceremony marks the culmination of the festivities. The Ganesha idol is ritually immersed in a water body, symbolising the cycle of life and renewal. The visarjan ceremony represents the devotee's willingness to let go of worldly attachments, embracing change and transformation.
