Don’ts

- Avoid eating non-vegetarian or tamasik food on Hanuman Jayanti as it disrupts spiritual purity and reduces the positive energy needed to connect with the divine during the worship.

- Do not wear black or white coloured clothes while worshipping Lord Hanuman as they are considered inauspicious.

- Wear red or saffron-coloured clothes instead of black or white to maintain a sacred and uplifting atmosphere that aligns with the positive energy associated with Lord Hanuman.

- Stay away from alcohol and intoxicants on this day as these substances weaken the spiritual discipline required to worship Lord Hanuman with full devotion and might enrage him.

- Ensure the idol of Lord Hanuman is whole and unbroken during worship as offering prayers to a damaged statue is considered disrespectful and spiritually ineffective.

- Avoid harming or disturbing animals especially monkeys as they are sacred to Hanuman Ji and treating them with kindness reflects true devotion to the deity.

- Do not include Panchamrit or Charanamrit in your offerings as these are not part of the traditional rituals dedicated to Lord Hanuman and should be avoided.

- Stay awake and alert throughout the day especially when fasting on Hanuman Jayanti as this reflects dedication and prevents the loss of spiritual focus during Hanuman Ji's worship.

- Avoid using garlic, onion or other tamasic ingredients in meals as they are believed to lower spiritual energy and are unsuitable for a sacred day like Hanuman Jayanti.

- Always remember and honour Lord Rama during Hanuman worship as Hanuman Ji’s devotion to Shri Ram is central to his spiritual identity and must be acknowledged.
