Janmashtami 2023: The Laddu Gopal idol is revered in the homes of many Hindus as it is the childhood form of Lord Krishna. It is believed that Laddu Gopal ji brings happiness, wealth, and good fortune to the family. In addition, the presence of Laddu Gopal at your home denotes that Lord Krishna is pleased and desires to visit you. One must make it a point to revere the deity of Ladd Gopal Ji just like a little baby.
Janmashtami is soon approaching on the 6th and 7th of September. All the ardent devotees of Lord Krishna will perform Abhishek of the divine lord. Though one must perform the Abhishek of Laddu Gopal Ji every day, performing the Abhishek, especially on the auspicious day of Janmashtami makes Lord Krishna very pleased. Let's look at how to worship Lord Krishna on the auspicious day of Janmashtami in order to win his favour and receive his abundant mercies.
Janmashtami 2023: How To Perform Abhishek Of Laddu Gopal Ji
1. Make sure to place the idol of Laddu Gopal Ji upon a clean and big vessel (paraat).
2. Start performing Abhishek by bathing the deity idol with Tulsi leaves and holy water of Yamuna or the Gangajal. After this, bathe Bal Gopal Ji’s deity with the Panchamrit (Milk, Curd, Ghee, Honey and Sugar Powder). Bathe the divine lord with Gangajal once again.
3. While doing Abhishek, keep chanting the mantra Om Krishnaya Namah or Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaya Namah.
4. After performing the Abhishek of Laddu Gopal ji, fill a conch (shankh) with scented water and offer Arghya to Lord Krishna.
5. At last, decorate the deity of Laddu Gopal ji by adorning him with a beautiful poshak, mukut, jewellery, Mor Pankh and bansuri. Make sure to do the Chandan sringar of the deity as Lord Krishna is very pleased with the beautiful sringar.
6. Perform Lord Krishna’s aarti, offer bhog with tulsi leaves and chant his glories to seek his choicest blessings.
Janmashtami 2023: What To Do After Abhishek
After performing the abhishek, make the Panchamrit out of the mixture obtained from it. One must not throw that mixture. Add Makhane, Chironji, Gari, Chuara, Raisins and Tulsi leaves to it and consume it as Prasad after worship.
Janmashtami 2023: Things To Keep In Mind While Worshipping Laddu Gopal Deity
- Always apply sandalwood tilak to Laddu Gopal ji.
- Laddu Gopal's sringar must incorporate a flute and peacock feathers. The ornamentation of Laddu Gopal is deemed incomplete without both of these items.
- Make sure to keep Tulsi leaves in the Abhishek and also offer them after doing the sringar of Laddu Gopal ji and he loves it. It is believed that Tulsi is very dear to Lord Krishna and he doesn’t accept any offering without the Tulsi leaves.
- Swing Laddu Gopal on his “Jhoola” after adorning him and reciting Shri Krishna ji's aarti.
