Kaal Bhairav Jayanti 2025: Significance
Kaal Bhairav is also known as Kashi Kotwal, or the guardian of Varanasi. It is believed that devotees who worship him with devotion are freed from all fears, enemies, and obstacles. Worshipping Kaal Bhairav is also beneficial for getting rid of Rahu-Ketu or Saturn's ill effects.
Kaal Bhairav Baba is the most fierce and powerful form of Lord Shiva, considered a protector and guardian. Also known as the "Lord of Time," he destroys negative forces and evil spirits. Baba Kaal Bhairav is also considered the god of the occult. According to the sacred Hindu legends, Lord Shiva himself appointed him as the Kotwal of Kashi to free Brahma from the sin of killing a brahmin by cutting off his fifth head.
Kaal Bhairav Jayanti 2025: Puja Vidhi
On the day of Kaal Bhairav Jayanti, take a bath in the morning and worship Lord Shiva and Bhairava. Make sure to worship Baba Kaal Bhairav in the temple. To perform his puja, first perform abhishekam of Baba with Ganga Jal. Then, offer fruits, flowers, incense, lamps, sweets, betel leaves, betel nuts, etc. to Baba Bhairav. Light incense sticks and a mustard oil diya in front of the deity. Additionally, make sure to offer Imarti or Jalebi to Kaal Bhairav. Feeding dogs is considered very auspicious because the dog is the vehicle or vahana of Lord Kaal Bhairav. Make sure to donate generously on this day to receive the blessings of Lord Bhairav.
