1. The idol of the god is taken to the Omkareshwar temple in Ukhimath and worshipped there for six months during the winter months when the Kedarnath temple is closed.

2. At the temple of Kedarnath, the Shiva Lingam is shaped like a triangle. For this reason, it is a unique Lord Shiva temple. It is situated in the sanctum sanctorum of the Temple (Garbha the Griha). Different idols at the Kedarnath temple depict different goddesses and gods, including Parvati, Lord Krishna, the five Pandavas, and their wives, Nandi, Veerabhadra, and Draupadi. 

3. The elevation of the Kedarnath temple is 85 feet. It measures 187 feet long and 80 feet wide. The walls of the Kedarnath temple are made of incredibly durable stones and are 12 feet thick.

4. For more than 400 years, snow covered the shrine at Kedarnath. The temple sprang to life after that.

5. The term "Kodaram" is the source of the name Kedarnath. According to legend, the gods worshipped Lord Shiva as a means of defence against demons. Afterwards, Lord Shiva appeared as an ox, slew the demons, and used his horns to cast their corpses into the Mandakini River. 

6. The chief priest of the Kedarnath temple is invariably a member of the Karnataka Veerashaiva community, popularly known as Raval. The puja ritual is carried out by his aide, not by him alone. However, when the god's image is transferred from Kedarnath to Ukhimath. At this point, the ceremony will be conducted by the senior priest. Ukhimath's lord is likewise Raval.
