Krishna Yogeshwara Dwadashi 2025: Significance
In the Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna is known as Yogeshwara, the ultimate guru. He guides Arjuna on how to act correctly, be devoted, and remain detached. Krishna points out that yoga isn't just about physical exercise; it's about syncing your mind, body, and soul with divine truth. During Yogeshwara Dwadashi, followers remember Krishna's guidance. Lord Krishna said, "Yogaḥ Karmasu Kaushalam" which means Yoga is skill in action.
By fasting and praying with a pure heart, one gradually learns to perform actions without attachment, desire, and ego. This is true karma purification and means that one must not run away from life, but transform their life. Yogeshwara Dwadashi is not merely a religious fast.. It is a day for self-introspection and freeing the mind from unnecessary desires, anger, and delusion. It invites the soul to become steady and calm, just as Krishna guided Arjuna on the battlefield.

Krishna Yogeshwara Dwadashi 2025: Vrat Katha
During the churning of the ocean of milk, many wonderful things emerged from the ocean, such as Kamadhenu, the Kalpavriksha, Airavata, and nectar. At this time, a divine woman, who was the incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi, also appeared. Lord Vishnu married Goddess Lakshmi on Yogeshwar Dwadashi, making this day extremely sacred.
In ancient times, Brahma told Narada about two wish-fulfilling fasts: the Yogeshwar Dwadashi fast and the Kshirabdhi Shayan fast. Lord Vishnu said that after sunset on Kartik Shukla Dwadashi, he would emerge from the ocean of milk with Goddess Lakshmi and reside in the Tulsi plant, accompanied by all the gods and sages.
On this day, anyone who comes to Vrindavan and worships Goddess Lakshmi, Tulsi, and Lord Vishnu, recites their glories, and donates lamps, is freed from all sins, overcomes misfortune, and attains salvation. Therefore, this fast must be observed to fulfil one’s wishes.
