On the last Sawan Somwar of 2025, begin the Shivling Abhishek with a clean body and a pure heart. Wake up early during Brahma Muhurat, take a bath and wear clean, preferably white or light-coloured traditional clothes. Visit the nearest Shiva temple to perform Abhishekam. Light a diya and incense sticks, and arrange the offerings like milk, curd, honey, sugar, ghee, water, bael leaves, dhatura, sandalwood paste, and seasonal fruits. Begin the ritual with a quiet moment of meditation and devotion to Lord Shiva.

Start the Abhishek by pouring water on the Shivling while chanting “Om Namah Shivaya.” Then offer milk, followed by curd, honey and ghee, each in small amounts, while maintaining your focus on Lord Shiva. After these, offer pure water again to cleanse the Shivling. Apply sandalwood paste and decorate with bael leaves and dhatura flowers, which are especially dear to Shiva.
