Mangala Gauri Vrat 2025: Puja Vidhi
The Mangala Gowri Pooja requires specific samagri, including a stool or altar, white and red cloth, Kalash, Diya and pious clay to make an idol of Goddess Parvati. The ritual involves worshipping Lord Ganesha, the Kalash, and the Diya, followed by the worship of nine heaps of rice as the Navagraha and 16 heaps of wheat as the 16 incarnations of the Goddess. Devotees then create an idol of Goddess Gauri using clean clay and perform Abhishek with Panchamrit and pure water.
The worship involves offering 16 shringar, including vermilion, kohl, henna and turmeric, while chanting specific mantras. Devotees also offer 16 flowers, garlands, fruits, leaves, and ladoos made of wheat, betel leaves and Panchmeva. The ritual concludes with the recitation of the Mangala Gauri vrat Katha and Aarti. The idol is then immersed in a lake, pond or river on the following Wednesday, marking the completion of the fast.
The ritual requires utmost devotion and attention to detail, with specific procedures to be followed every Tuesday of Sawan. The worship of Goddess Gauri is believed to bring marital bliss, prosperity, and longevity to married women, while unmarried women seek a suitable partner. The ritual is a testament to the devotion and faith of women, who seek the blessings of Goddess Parvati for a fulfilling life.
The fast is completed with Udyapan, followed by Havan on the last Tuesday of the resolution period, and offering food to 16 married women under the guidance of a learned priest. This sacred ritual is a celebration of devotion, faith, and spirituality, bringing positivity and harmony into the lives of those who observe it with sincerity and dedication. The blessings of Goddess Gauri are believed to bring happiness and prosperity to all.
