Navratri 2023 Day 9 Puja Vidhi
On the auspicious day of Navami, people perform Kanya Puja and feed nine young girls as they begin their day. These young girls are referred to as "kanjaks," and they serve as the worshippers of Goddess Durga. They are arranged in a queue. Their feet are washed, a holy tilak is applied to their foreheads, and a holy dhaaga (mouli) is knotted on their hands.
Additionally, they are given prepared prasad, which includes puri, halva, and black grammes. The Mahanavami should ideally begin with a mahasnan and end with a Shodashopachar Puja. A unique puja known as Sandhi Puja is performed when Ashtami Tithi ends and Ram Navami Tithi starts. Goddess Durga is allegedly given 108 flowers.
