In varied ways, Navratri is observed throughout the nation with full fervour and enthusiasm. Following the Kalash Sthapana on Navratri Day 1, worshippers maintain a nine-day fast or a first and last fast in accordance with their family's customs. Navratri fasting is particularly prevalent in North India. On the day of Navami, Navratri Parana is performed together with Kanya Pujan, during which young ladies are invited for a feast of halwa puri and worshipped as kanjaks.
